To produce garden structures that bring about a vibrant energy and interest back into our backyard is truly a fascinating venture to embark into. For this, we are grateful and honored that we have the privilege to offer you a shaded space to make you enjoy the relaxing breeze along with the outdoor scenes.

We are a manufacturer of Bamboo Garden Structures such as Gazebos, Cubbies, Sheds, Summerhouse, Huts and any other possible space amenities that are meant to be separate from the actual house itself. We also produce furniture and other complimentary articles all made out of bamboo.

Our products are all inspired by and are of contemporary modifications of the traditional Filipino dwelling, the "Bahay Kubo" or cube house.  A simple, conventional dwelling style commonly made out of bamboo and other local materials. Bahay Kubo is a breezy yet warm and welcoming type of structure that exudes an undeniably authentic Tropical Charm.

Bahay Kubo is considered to be a cultural icon. Our goal is to make it globally known, making it an "essential" element on garden landscapes and on recreational & hospitality amenities. Reimagined and tossed with a modernize flair, transforming it to what was then a vernacular structure to becoming a well-crafted, export quality garden attraction. Poised & ready to become your backyard's focal point.

Our  Story

Originally named the “Baikoo  Studio”(Bahay  Kubo) a lingual jest to the syllabic-bypassing tendencies of the  Cebuanos. We have been around since 2013 and was founded by Bonn Tumanda. It start out as a small shop dedicated exclusively to delve and explore the potentials of this fantastic material ---- bamboo.

Before that, he doesn't have any knowledge what-so-ever with bamboo . But he persisted and delved more. The establishment of that first shop has given him an even broader understanding of the subject. Moving forward, he becomes well acquainted with the extraordinary properties of Bamboo.  That little shop has given birth to some of his first bamboo designs along with original crafting techniques.

We have come a long way since then, and that little shop has eventually become a sizable factory capable of producing export quality Nipa Huts, furniture, and other items all made out of bamboo. Now, it's registered as IMBA CONTORTIONS TRADING. A fully family-run business and 100% Filipino-owned.

Bamboo A Wood Substitute

The Goodness of Bamboo

"There is nothing that a tree can do that a Bamboo can't." On the other hand, bamboo has many other applications that trees aren't capable of. Things like clothing, bicycle, toothbrush, charcoal, alcohol and would you believe a beer out of bamboo?

Aside from the plethora of potential applications of bamboo, there is one factor that draws out the bamboo's environmental importance and ecological value even more. We're talking about its ability to grow to maturity very rapidly. That equally translates to a quicker replenishing of bamboo timbers on the wild from just 3-5 years to harvest. Compare that to trees which take at least a decade!

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet! This means super fast replenishment after harvest.

Bamboo only needs 3 to 5 years to harvest, making it the world's most sustainable natural material!

Bamboo can replace the uses of wood for nearly every application. From paper, garments, you can even make tea out of it.

Bamboo doesn't need any fertilizer nor pesticides or any other form of scientific agricultural interventions in order to propagate well.

Bamboo absorbs carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of hardwood trees.

Trees in Great Distress

Did you know ?

About half of the world's tropical forests have been cleared, according to the FAO.

Almost half of the world’s timber and up to 70% of paper is consumed by Europe, the United States and Japan alone.

Up to 28,000 species are expected to become extinct by the next quarter of the century due to deforestation.

The United States has less than 5% of the world’s population but consumes more than 30% of the world’s paper.

Every one minute, forest the size of 20 Football field are being cut down.

Humans have been exploited Trees ever since the beginning of time.  For us, wood somehow is like a renewable resource, a perpetual sacrificial element we could chop off for whatever things we deemed it useful.

Trees have given us humans essential things to thrive. From oxygen to medicine up to the shiniest hardwood floors we crave about on a Real Estate. We are doing little to nothing to return the good it has for us. Food production also has massively contributed to the rapid rainforest clearings in the Amazon and anywhere else on the globe.

Tragically, as a result, trees are depleting in a blinding speed!. Close to becoming a classic moral story on which Man's greed has led to irreparable damage to mother Earth. I'm afraid we could be telling this story to our grandchildren soon! This God-given resource soon will be exhausted, and according to an estimate, Rainforests will be gone forever in within 100 years!  UNLESS.....
